Clippers 9, Storm Chasers 2

The Clippers tagged former decent big league starter Spencer Turnbull for five runs, including a home run from Johnathan Rodriguez. Christian Cairo added a homer and a double and Cooper Ingle also homered.

Ryan Webb pitched quite well, going seven innings, giving up one unearned run, two hits, two walks and striking out seven.

Fireflies 15, Hillcats 10

I believe this is what they call a donnybrook with the teams putting up a combined 29 hits and 12 walks. No one pitched particularly well in this game, so it’ll be one for Hillcats’ starter Joey Oakie (4.1 innings, 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks, and 4 K’s) to grow on.

Dauri Fernandez had three hits including a homer for Lynchburg, Schubart went 2 for 3 with a homer, and Riley Nelson also had 2 hits. Lynchburg will try again to secure the Carolina League title tonight with Melkis Hernandez on the mound at 7:05PM EDT.
