MISSOULA, Mont. — Former LSU standout and national champion Hayden Travinski is taking the next step in his baseball journey, signing with the Houston Astros organization after a brief but impactful stint with the Missoula PaddleHeads.
Travinski, who joined Missoula in 2024 following a standout senior season at LSU, becomes the first PaddleHeads player from this year’s Spring Training roster to sign with an MLB organization. In 20 games for Missoula, he tallied 14 RBIs and 5 extra-base hits, showing versatility by playing both catcher and first base.
“Travinski never really needed to be here — he came from a big-time program like LSU,” said PaddleHeads manager Michael Schlact. “But his leadership and accountability in the clubhouse made a huge impact. He earned this opportunity.”
At LSU, Travinski appeared in over 170 games, capping his college career in 2024 with an All-SEC nod. He hit .271 with 18 home runs and 13 doubles in his final season.
Now signed with Houston, Travinski expressed gratitude: “This came out of left field, but I’m excited. I’m thankful to Missoula for the opportunity — you never know when your chance will come.”
From Baton Rouge to Missoula to the Astros, Travinski continues the PaddleHeads’ tradition of producing talent ready for the next level.
