It seems ‘Phillies Karen’ just can’t escape the spotlight. The woman who went viral for snatching a kid’s home run ball recently became the punchline of comedian Mark Normand’s dark stand-up joke.
During a recent show, Normand brought up the brutal murder of Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed last week. He then joked that America should settle its shooting problem by voting on who to shoot. His choice? None other than the infamous ‘Phillies Karen’.
“You know what we’re gonna do? We should vote on who to shoot. We can’t stop shooting people. Let’s just all come together and be like, all right, let’s shoot the baseball Karen lady. How about that? There we go. Yeah, that’s how we bring the country back together,” Normand says in a clip he shared on Instagram.
That dark punchline surprisingly received a huge cheer and applause from the crowd.
Notably, this isn’t the first time the ‘Phillies Karen’ has been the butt of jokes. Ever since the clip of her grabbing a kid’s home-run ball went viral, social media, celebrities, and broadcasters have ripped her apart.
She Had a “Couple of Demons” – MLB Stars Open Up on ‘Phillies Karen’ Drama
Philadelphia team’s third baseman Nick Castellanos opened up on the incident on the On Base with Mookie Betts podcast. He called the outburst more than a one-off.
“This woman was obviously mad about a lot of other things in her life. So then this one instance happened. So now, like everything that she has been mad about for years, it all came out in this one moment where she felt like this man stole her opportunity for happiness.”
Dodgers star Mookie Betts echoed the same sentiment, joking that the now-infamous, unidentified woman had “a couple of demons” in her.
While the internet has already created endless memes and sketches about ‘Phillies Karen’, it’s not likely to stop anytime soon.
