The New York Yankees look to extend their three-game winning streak tonight as they continue their series with the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.

The Yankees did exactly what they needed to do last night: dominate the AL East’s worst team. Starter Max Fried was in ace form, pitching seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out thirteen.

The New York bats provided more than enough offense in a 7-0 win, while the bullpen didn’t blow the game. Reliever Paul Blackburn, signed in August after being released by the New York Mets, closed it out with two scoreless innings.

With the win, the Yankees closed to within three games of the AL East-leading Toronto Blue Jays. New York has the easiest remaining schedule across the MLB. After this series, they play the Colorado Rockies and then the Orioles once again.

As for tonight, the Yankees may have difficulty repeating last night’s offensive show. Baltimore’s starter tonight, Trevor Rogers, comes in with a 8-2 record and a 1.43 ERA. He’s only allowed more than 3 runs this year once.

Rogers was pulled from his last start after five innings due to a toe blister, but he’s capable of going deep in games. In August, he pitched four outings in a row in which he gave up just one run over seven innings. Rogers has gone as deep as eight innings twice this season. This is his first time facing the Yankees in 2025.

Will Warren gets the start for the Yankees. He who enters at 8-7 with a 4.44 ERA. While generally steady since late summer, Warren has had two rough outings recently — both against the Boston Red Sox. He’s had mixed results against Baltimore, but looked sharper in his last appearance, allowing just two runs over 6.1 innings.

Prediction

This matchup looks like a pitcher’s duel. Rogers has been nearly unhittable, but the Yankees’ recent momentum and deeper lineup may be enough to scratch out a win.

Prediction: Yankees 3, Orioles 2
