Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays for today’s fantasy baseball slate on DraftKings, which starts at 7:05 p.m. ET.

With just over a week remaining in the Major League Baseball regular season, several playoff races are still undecided, leaving plenty of drama to unfold over the next eight days. Several key series are lined up this weekend, with divisional matchups all across the board. On Saturday night, 11 games are on the main DFS fantasy baseball slate, which begins at 7:05 p.m. ET. Six of those games are divisional matchups, including the second game of the doubleheader between the red-hot Guardians and the Twins. With 22 teams in the player pool, numerous strong plays are available to consider, storylines to follow and matchups to attack all across the board. Let’s dive in and break down the matchups to find the best MLB DFS picks from Saturday’s slate.

As always, it’s important to double-check your fantasy baseball lineup before the first pitch and adjust based on starting lineups and the latest weather forecasts. Coming into the day, there are a few trouble spots to watch with rain in the forecast for Minnesota, Kansas City, Chicago and St. Louis. While all those games have the possibility for a delay, none look likely to be postponed at this point, but be sure to follow along leading up to first pitch to see if any games will be impacted. The Rockies are hosting their last series of the regular season at Coors Field against the Angels, and conditions are especially favorable for offense in Denver, as usual.

PITCHERS

Stud

Tyler Glasnow, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants, $10,500: In the final game of the night, the Dodgers host the Giants after taking the first two games of this four-game set against their rivals. They’ve pushed their lead back to four games in the NL West and will look to hold off the Padres over the last few games of the season. Glasnow gets the ball on Saturday night after going 3-3 on the season in 16 games with a 3.06 ERA and 3.80 FIP. Glasnow has averaged 20.4 fantasy points per game in his last 10 outings and 22.2 fantasy points in his 10 home starts.

He faced the Giants last week and went 6 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and one run with four strikeouts and 20.2 fantasy points. Glasnow has at least 18 fantasy points in six of his last seven contests, with a high point of 38.55 fantasy points against the Rockies in his most recent home outing, when he didn’t allow a hit in seven innings with 11 strikeouts. He has that kind of upside in the rematch against the Giants since he has been so good at home, and he is the top pay-up play on the board this Saturday.

Value

Slade Cecconi, Cleveland Guardians at Minnesota Twins, $7,500: The Guardians are the hottest team in baseball after winning eight straight and 13 of their last 14 to surge to within 1.5 games of the third and final AL Wild Card spot and just 2.5 games back of the AL Central lead. They’ll play a critical doubleheader on Saturday against the Twins, and the second game of the twin bill is on the main slate, as Slade Cecconi takes on Bailey Ober ($6,900).

The Guardians’ pitching staff as a whole has been outstanding over the last two weeks, with a team ERA of 1.53 and a 2.62 FIP. Cecconi has had an up-and-down year, but he has only allowed two total runs in his last two starts, lowering his ERA to 4.39 on the season to go with his 6-6 record. He earned 25.6 fantasy points against the Royals and 14.35 fantasy points against the White Sox in his last two starts. He’s averaging 15.8 fantasy points per game in his 10 road starts this year but this will be his first matchup against the Twins.

The Twins traded away key pieces at the trade deadline and have dropped three straight and seven of their last nine. Their offense has been surprisingly solid, but in the second game of the doubleheader, they could go with a thinner lineup against Cecconi on Saturday night.

INFIELD

Stud

Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Guardians at Minnesota Twins $5,600: Ramirez has been the heart of the Guardians’ offense all season and has put together outstanding numbers across the board. The 33-year-old switch-hitter is hitting .282 with 29 homers, 40 stolen bases and a .359 wOBA. In his last 15 games, Ramirez has 18 hits, including 10 for extra bases. He has six doubles, three homers, a triple and four stolen bases during that span, averaging 10.6 fantasy points per game. He put up double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five after going 1-for-3 with a double and a stolen base for 18 fantasy points on Friday.

Ramirez is 8-for-26 (.308) with two doubles and two homers in his career against Ober, and he has hit 23 of his 29 homers this year against righties like Ober with a .266 average and .352 wOBA.

Value

Christian Moore, Los Angeles Angels at Colorado Rockies, $3,700: Paying up for Glasnow, Ramirez and other superstars is possible since there are so many exciting young options at affordable salaries. Moore is one of the Angels’ top prospects who is getting a good look down the stretch, and he gets the boost of playing at Coors Field this Saturday.

The No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, Moore was fast-tracked to the majors and has started to settle in after a rocky first few months in the majors. When rosters expanded on Sept. 1, the Angels actually optioned him back to Triple-A to get him more playing time, and he has been hot since coming back with at least 14 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He has seven homers in his 45 games in the majors and seven homers in his 68 minor-league games. He added 10 stolen bases with a solid .271 batting average in the minors, and his speed and contact should start to come around as he gets more comfortable. He and the Angels have a high ceiling against German Marquez ($4,800) on Saturday, but they are still relatively affordable options as well. Along with Moore, Bryce Teodosio ($3,300) and Denzer Guzman ($3,100) are cheap options with big-time upside.

Value

Blaine Crim, Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Angels, $3,400: The Rockies are also in a favorable matchup at Coors Field as they take on Kyle Hendricks ($5,300). Hendricks has a 6.15 ERA in his last eight starts and gave up nine runs on 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings in his most recent start.

Crim spent the past several years in the Rangers’ system before being claimed off waivers by the Rockies in August. He made his MLB debut earlier this year in May, but he has had more success this time around with the Rockies. He is 7-for-25 (.280) in his last seven games with three homers, nine RBIs and an average of 10.3 fantasy points per game over that small sample size.

OUTFIELD

Stud

Julio Rodriguez, Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros, $5,500: The Mariners and Astros started their weekend series tied for the AL West, and the Mariners won on Friday to move one game in front. Rodriguez hit his 31st homer of the year as part of the M’s 4-0 win on Friday night, and he’s putting together another outstanding finish to the season. Throughout his career, he has started the season slowly and caught fire down the stretch. Over his last 24 games, he’s hitting .323 with six homers, four stolen bases and a .400 wOBA.

He has averaged 9.9 fantasy points in his last 10 games and has double-digit fantasy points in four of his last six. On the season, he’s hitting .297 on the road with a .388 wOBA, and in his career, he is 7-for-26 (.269) with one home run and one stolen base.

Stud

Jarren Duran, Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays, $5,200: Duran also homered in his team’s big win on Friday night, going 2-for-6 with 21 fantasy points. He has double-digit fantasy points in four of his last six contests and is averaging 9.4 fantasy points per game over his last 10 contests.

Most of his production has been at Fenway Park, but he has also had success in Tampa. He’s hitting .283 with a .373 wOBA against righties like Adrian Houser ($7,800), who has had a very solid season overall for both the White Sox and Rays, although he has given up multiple runs and a home run in each of his last three contests.

Value

Jac Caglianone, Kansas City Royals vs. Toronto Blue Jays, $2,500: The Royals went off for 20 runs on Friday night, and Caglianone got in on the action with his seventh homer of the season while going 2-for-5 with three runs scored, four RBIs and 29 fantasy points. The 22-year-old is still only hitting .163 on the year with seven homers in 56 games in the majors.

However, he has hit safely in five straight games with a pair of homers, averaging 12.0 fantasy points per game over that short span. He still brings tons of potential at this value salary as he takes on Shane Bieber ($10,100) and the Blue Jays. Caglianone has one of the most exciting young bats in the game, but he hasn’t been able to settle in at the majors just yet.
