MEMPHIS, Tenn. (KATV) — The Razorbacks’ run of bad luck in late game situations continued against the Tigers in Memphis.

The Hogs would start the game off hot, scoring a touchdown on their first pass, as Taylen Green found Rohan Jones for a 62-yard touchdown to put them out in front.

They would then hold the Tigers to a field goal, before giving up a touchdown to them on their next drive as quarterback Brandon Lewis punched it in for a touchdown from 4 yards out to put them up 10-7.

Arkansas would then respond with 21-straight unanswered points to jump out to a 28-10 lead just before the half.

Memphis would have just enough time to get some points on the board, as Lewi found Cortez Braham Jr. for a 38-yard touchdown to bring the score to 28-17.

Memphis would receive the ball at the beginning of the second half, but would end up pointless after having to punt the ball. Arkansas would follow suit as they would have to punt the ball on their next possession.

Memphis would get the ball back and ultimately have to settle for a field goal to bring them within 8 points of the Hogs.

Arkansas got the ball back and would also settle for a field goal, which would end up being their only points of the second half.

On their next possession, Brandon Lewis would make another trip into the end zone with another rushing touchdown to bring them within 5 after a failed two-point conversion.

The Razorbacks would get the chance to respond, but an errant pass from Taylen Green would end in the hands of Kamari Wilson for the Tigers to take over.

Although things looked dire, Arkansas would get another chance to put some points on the board after Julian Neal would pick off Brandon Lewis to give the Hogs the ball back.

This ultimately ended with nothing for Arkansas, as they had to punt the ball back to Memphis.

Memphis wouldn’t squander their chance, as Sutton Smith broke away for a 64-yard touchdown to put the Tigers up by 1 after a failed two-point conversion.

Arkansas got the ball back with 4:51 left in the game, as they looked to get any sort of point that could’ve gave them the lead.

They would make big plays, marching down to Memphis’ 17 yard line with 1:55 seconds left.

Taylen handed the ball off to Mike Washington Jr, who had seemingly been having his way with the Tigers’ defense on this drive.

This is when the Razorbacks would be bitten by bad luck again, as Washington would have the ball punched out by Memphis, who would fall on top of the ball to secure the victory.

For the second week in a row, a late game fumble by the Razorbacks gave the game away to the opponent. With this loss, the Hogs fall to 2-2 on the season.

Arkansas will look to bounce back next week against No. 24 Notre Dame in Fayetteville.
