A lot of things have gone wrong during this 2025 Minnesota Twins season—but the TV broadcast crew has not been one of them! The television denizens have posted a surprisingly solid showing for essentially being a self-run organization (freed from the bonds of Bally/Fanduel Sports Network and its near-constant bankruptcy).
For so long here in Twins Territory it was Dick-&-Bert calling 75%+ of the action, but that has shifted to a more rotating cast by region—which I like. The same voices day after day lead to stale commentary and repeated aphorisms (“downward plane”, anyone?) even if the overall pairing is solid.
A few thoughts on each member of the new crew:
It sounds like ESPN will be the new home of Twins TV in 2026. I hope they retain the services of all these fine individuals and continue to allow their roles to grow.
I’ll be back for the final 162 recap next Sunday, but today I again have Purple Pride commitments to attend to so someone else will be recapping the action. A lefty starter on the mound against MN bats—so I’m sure nothing can possibly go wrong.
