Into every playoff chase a little rain must fall?
It’s falling into this one. The Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs have had the start of their series finale Sept. 21 delayed by rain.
The teams expected to have a window clear of the weather in the next hour or two.
The Reds, winners of five of their last six games, entered the day trailing the New York Mets by one game for the final National League playoff berth with seven games left.
The Cubs have lost all three games to the Reds since clinching a playoff berth in Pittsburgh the game before the series opened.
