Garion Thorne gives his top studs and value plays for tonight’s three-game featured fantasy baseball slate on DraftKings.
One week. It’s not just the name of the Barenaked Ladies’ most popular single. It’s also the exact amount of time left in the MLB regular season.
However, for the purposes of this article, we’re aren’t looking ahead one week. We’re only focused on tonight’s three-game featured DFS slate. Here are my top picks for your lineups.

Value
Justin Verlander, San Francisco Giants vs. St. Louis Cardinals, $6,700 – It wasn’t the prettiest start to the season, and Verlander’s record remains quite underwhelming; but the 42-year-old has turned it on the past month in an attempt to help push the Giants to a Wild Card spot. In his last four starts, Verlander has allowed just a single earned run over 25.0 innings. That includes seven scoreless frames his last time out against the Diamondbacks. I’d be surprised if Verlander wasn’t able to keep the good times rolling on Monday night in a matchup with the free-falling Cardinals. St. Louis hasn’t hit the ball well at all in September, registering an 82 wRC+ and a .099 ISO — the latter representing the lowest mark in the league. Woof.
INFIELD
Stud
Rafael Devers, San Francisco Giants vs. St. Louis Cardinals, $5,400 – Devers might not have a legitimate defensive position, but he can still mash the ball. Coming into tonight’s slate, Devers owns a 98th percentile average exit velocity (93.6), a 97th percentile hard hit rate (55.8%) and a 94th percentile barrel rate (15.4%). He also happened to hit a home run off of Michael McGreevy ($6,000) the last time these two faced-off about two weeks ago. That shouldn’t come as a shock, either. McGreevy has struggled with opposing LHBs all season long, conceding a .308 average and a .363 wOBA within the split.
Value
Bryce Eldridge, San Francisco Giants vs. St. Louis Cardinals, $2,500 – Allow me to present Eldridge as a super-cheap alternative to the aforementioned Devers. While the Giants’ top prospect only has one hit in 15 career at-bats, Eldridge also has a 103.3 mph average exit velocity and a 100.0% hard hit rate. I think it’s safe to say that BABIP hasn’t been on the rookie’s side, and a .750 expected wOBA on batted ball events would back up that feeling. With McGreevy’s struggles against left-handed hitters well established, I have a sneaky suspicion that tonight is the night that Eldridge’s luck changes. You can’t beat this level of upside at his price tag.
OUTFIELD
Stud
Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers at San Diego Padres, $5,300 – It might have taken a league-high 31.2% HR/FB ratio, but Yelich is on the cusp of his first 30 home run season since all the way back in 2019. He’s also absolutely destroyed opposing RHPs in 2025, a .238 ISO and a 140 wRC+ within the split. Tonight’s righty? Nick Pivetta ($8,500). While Pivetta’s surface numbers look immaculate, his 3.97 xERA is a full run higher than his actual ERA. This is still the same guy who has struggled to keep the ball in the park throughout his career, which was highlighted last Wednesday when he gave up three homers to the Mets. Yelich has enjoyed seeing Pivetta in the past, registering a 1.296 OPS in 16 career at-bats.
Value
Marcell Ozuna, Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals, $3,500 – If you had told me in April that Marcell Ozuna was ever going to be this cheap against an LHP, I would have called you a liar. Granted, Ozuna’s numbers have fallen off a cliff compared to 2024, yet the veteran is still managing an 83rd percentile expected wOBA (.363). He’s not completely washed. Ozuna also hit fifth the last time the Braves faced a southpaw. On the other side of this matchup, MacKenzie Gore ($7,700) has struggled since making his first All-Star appearance, mustering an ugly 6.27 ERA since July 20. Gore’s looked better since returning from a brief IL stint, yet I don’t 100% trust the lefty in this spot.
