With six games left to play, the Guardians hold the last wild card spot in the American League. They are tied with the Houston Astros record-wise but hold the tiebreaker with a 4-2 head-to-head record.
Sitting at 84-72, the Guardians additionally are one game back of the Detroit Tigers for the American League Central division. In their past 11 games, the Guardians are 10-1 and recently swept the Tigers while on the road. Cleveland will finish its season with two more homestands: a three-game series against the Tigers starting Sept. 23 and a three-game series against the Texas Rangers starting Sept. 26.
