Former Florida Gators in Major League Baseball continue to make their presence felt, and this past week delivered plenty of storylines.

Pete Alonso has been on an absolute tear for the New York Mets, slugging four home runs in his last seven games. Harrison Bader stayed steady for Philadelphia, contributing clutch hits as the Phillies push toward October.

On the mound, Brady Singer kept the Reds in playoff position with another strong outing, while rookies Brandon Sproat, Hurston Waldrep and Jac Caglianone all provided flashes of why their organizations are banking on them for the future.

Wyatt Langford, meanwhile, became the youngest player in Rangers history to record a 20-20 season.

Here’s how every Gator in the big leagues performed this week.

Wyatt Langford: Outfielder, Texas Rangers

Last 7 Games: .238 AVG | .407 OBP | .429 SLG | 1 HR | 2 RBI | 4 SB

2025 Season: .242 AVG | .345 OBP | .433 SLG | 22 HR | 62 RBI | 22 SB

Langford showed flashes of his all-around game this week, blasting a homer on Sept. 21 while also swiping four bags. With those stolen bases, Langford becomes the youngest Ranger ever to have 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a single season at 23 years old. His on-base ability helped offset a modest batting average, and his combination of patience, power and speed makes him one of the most dynamic young outfielders in baseball.

Pete Alonso: First Baseman, New York Mets

Last 7 Games: .440 AVG | .516 OBP | .960 SLG | 4 HR | 8 RBI

2025 Season: .274 AVG | .350 OBP | .526 SLG | 37 HR | 122 RBI

Alonso was locked in all week, delivering 11 hits in 25 at-bats, including four long balls and eight RBI. His bat almost single-handedly kept the Mets’ offense afloat, and his ability to flip games with one swing has never been more evident. At 30 years old, Alonso continues to show why he’s the anchor of the lineup and one of the most feared hitters in baseball.

Last 7 Games: .233 AVG | .303 OBP | .367 SLG | 1 HR | 1 RBI | 1 SB

2025 Season: .284 AVG | .357 OBP | .465 SLG | 17 HR | 54 RBI | 11 SB

Bader cooled slightly from his torrid September stretch, but he still produced a multi-hit game capped by a home run on Sept. 19 against Arizona. Even when not red-hot, his defense and energy give Philadelphia a boost. With October approaching, Bader’s veteran presence and knack for timely hits could be crucial for the Phillies’ postseason push.

Brady Singer: Starting Pitcher, Cincinnati Reds

Last Outing (Sept. 17 @ STL): 5.2 IP | 3 H | 1 ER | 2 BB | 6 K

2025 Season: 14-10 | 3.86 ERA | 161.0 IP | 155 K | 1.22 WHIP

Singer continued his strong run with a quality outing against the Cardinals, allowing just one earned run over nearly six innings. Over his last seven starts, he’s posted a 1.94 ERA while striking out 42 hitters. Cincinnati is leaning heavily on him down the stretch, and he’s proving he can handle the pressure of a playoff chase.

Hurston Waldrep: Starting Pitcher, Atlanta Braves

Last Outing (Sept. 17 @ WSH): 5.0 IP | 5 H | 3 ER | 0 BB | 8 K

2025 Season: 5-1 | 3.04 ERA | 50.1 IP | 50 K | 1.15 WHIP

Waldrep bounced back from a rough outing against Houston with a sharper start in Washington, striking out eight without walking a batter. The rookie’s stuff remains electric, and even in a small sample size, he’s already proving he can be a rotation mainstay for Atlanta.

Brandon Sproat: Starting Pitcher, New York Mets

Last Outing (Sept. 19 vs WSH): 4.0 IP | 4 H | 4 ER | 2 BB | 5 K

2025 Season: 0-1 | 3.94 ERA | 16.0 IP | 15 K | 1.19 WHIP

After two strong starts to open his big-league career, Sproat ran into some turbulence against the Nationals, giving up four earned runs in four innings. Still, the rookie right-hander’s poise and strikeout ability continue to impress, and the Mets are clearly invested in his development.

Last 7 Games: 269 AVG | .367 OBP | .615 SLG | 2 HR | 6 RBI

2025 Season: .164 AVG | .243 OBP | .308 SLG | 7 HR | 18 RBI

Caglianone delivered his best stretch as a big leaguer, clubbing two homers and driving in six runs over the past week. His overall numbers remain low, but for a 22-year-old rookie, the flashes of raw power are encouraging. Kansas City is clearly playing the long game with his development, and weeks like this show why.

Jonathan India: Infielder, Kansas City Royals

Last 7 Games: .222 AVG | .333 OBP | .333 SLG | 0 HR | 0 RBI

2025 Season: .235 AVG | .326 OBP | .343 SLG | 8 HR | 42 RBI

Jonathan India’s bat has yet to fully heat up since his return from the injured list. He managed four hits in 18 at-bats this week but failed to provide much pop. As a veteran presence, Kansas City will hope he can stabilize down the stretch, even if the power numbers lag behind.
