I am going to go ahead and make an executive decision and begin with the Mariners of Seattle.

And what they accomplished this weekend at Dykin Park.

This was a humongous moment for this franchise, truly.

This is from Cal Riley, quote, “This team has learned a lot over the past two years about finishing.

You remember those struggles, and it makes you focus and that much more energetic when you get to this time.

You recognize what is important this time of the year.

And that is, you know, it, again, you’re hearing a lot of similar sentiments from a lot of different teams and players who are excited to try to get to the postseason and trying to clinch that postseason spot.

But it is true that this, this team in particular, well, yes, they, they were in the postseason, finally ended the drought a few years ago, uh, no team has been eliminated in the final week or final days as often as the Mariners over the last 10 years, even before, you know, Cal Riley was there and was both sending them to the postseason and then coming up just short at the end of the year.

And so that core, just listen, man, it’s been, there’s been a lot of eliminations on the final weekend, and even if Cal Riley hasn’t been there for all of them, he’s been there for the last couple, he knows how painful that is.

And so, so that sentiment is clear that that core that has been through this a couple of times, who tasted it in ’22 and then have come up so close the last couple of years, understanding they have a good team, but haven’t quite been able to get there, you know, you carry that with you, and clearly they’re exercising those feelings and harnessing that and, and putting it into, into their play on the field.
