NEW YORK – It’s a post-playoff clinching lineup for the Yankees, where you might anticipate seeing a few more bench players getting a start.

But the Yankees are still gunning for a division title, with five games remaining and the Toronto Blue Jays holding a one-game edge (really two games, considering Toronto owns the tiebreaker).

With the AL East title in play, the Yankees will send ace lefty Max Fried (18-5, 2.92) against the last-place Chicago White Sox, who’ll use lefty reliever Fraser Ellard (0-2, 4.50) as an opener Wednesday night.

This will be Fried’s final regular season tune-up start before the postseason, as he’s lined up to pitch a best-of-three wild card series opener on one extra day of rest.

Of course, the Yankees are aiming higher than that right now.
