TORONTO (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten picked up his seventh hold of the season in the Boston Red Sox’ 4-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday.
The right-hander entered the game in the eighth inning.
Slaten forced Alejandro Kirk to ground out to third before getting Nathan Lukes to line out to third for the first two outs of the inning. Slaten ended the frame by getting Joey Loperfido to ground out.
Slaten threw 13 pitches, with 11 of them being strikes.
The Red Sox (86-71) are four games back of the Blue Jays in the AL East and currently hold the second Wild Card spot, one game above the Detroit Tigers. Boston continues their series against Toronto on Wednesday.
