SEATTLE — The teams at Simply Seattle and Moss Green are ready to go with new playoff merchandise fresh off the presses, just a day after October baseball got the go-ahead in Seattle.
“When we’re doing good, when the sports teams are doing good, we’re doing even better because now we’re printing thousands of shirts so that the fans can represent,” Michael Weber with Moss Green said.
The shirts are already on sale at the Simply Seattle store bearing Cal Raleigh’s colorful postseason phrase, “Might as well go win the whole f***king thing,” less than 24 hours after he said it.
“As soon as Cal came out for post-game, we all kind of our ears perked up,” Jake Smidt with Simply Seattle said. “And then he had his playoff phrase, ‘Go win the whole thing,’ and our designer, probably 15 minutes later, had a design over to us ready for approval.”
Sales for postseason Mariners merch are already looking to top the last time the team made the playoffs.
“I feel like this time we have a chance to really play for a bye,” Weber added, “We’re kind of a powerhouse coming into the playoffs, so I feel like people are more excited about it this time, and so that obviously is gonna boost sales and t-shirts.”
At The Hall on Occidental, they’ve been prepping for weeks to expand their space to hold thousands more fans in time for the playoffs, hoping the team keeps winning deep into the postseason.
“I mean, you can just feel it,” Gary Szeredy, owner of The Hall on Occidental, said. “It’s palpable in the air how exciting it is, and we’re actually going to be unveiling our 2,000 person outdoor beer garden for all the playoff games.”
“It’s just, it’s crazy to think that we’re going to the playoffs and where we could possibly clinch the AL West. It’s exciting, exciting for us,” said Szeredy.
A spokesperson for the Mariners tells KOMO News the team’s official postseason merch sold out Tuesday in just seven minutes.
Should the team clinch the division on Wednesday, the official division champs merch is all ready to go and will be on sale at the team store as fans leave the ballpark Wednesday night.
