SEATTLE — Playoff tickets for the Seattle Mariners are there for the taking as the team storms its way into the the postseason by winning the American League (AL) West division title.
Traffic on the website was extremely heavy Thursday and seats are expected to be snapped up quickly.
The Mariners beat the Colorado Rockies 9-2 on Wednesday night as the team reignites baseball fever in Seattle. Cal Raleigh helped lead the charge by swatting his 59th and 60th home runs, backed by deep shots by Julio Rodríguez, Jorge Polanco and Eugenio Suárez.
Seattle now has 16 wins in the last 17 games and fans are looking ahead to October.
Although season ticket holders with membership plans were given early access for Wild Card and American League Division Series (ALDS) single-game tickets, playoff ticket sales opened to the general public at noon on Thursday.
“We’re interested in playoff tickets. We came down just to see if we could get some, just seeing what it’s all about because we want to go. We want to experience this run. it’s wonderful,” said John Shuravloff, who was in town from Bellingham. “Right now it’s so exciting to be a Mariners fan. When you wake up in the morning it’s the first thing you think about.”
The last time the Mariners were in the playoffs was 2022 and those tickets sold out in a matter of minutes. How players finish out the regular season will change the team ranking in postseason games and ticket sales will reflect that.
For example, fans can buy tickets for all the upcoming rounds and then be reimbursed if the Mariners don’t play in those games. That doesn’t apply for tickets purchased through a secondary market as fans will have to contact that party for a refund.
“I think it’s pretty special with the short amount of time we get down here, that we get to be part of the big run that I hope they are going to go on here in the playoffs,” said Jarret Mitchell, who brought his family down from Canada and has tickets for Thursday night’s game, but hoped to get in for the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers as well.
“There was a handful of tickets that kept popping up online but you are looking at spending a week’s wages to go to the game basically,” said Mitchell.

As for the postseason, there are four potential “rounds” that include three possible games in the Wild Card Series, up to five games in the American League Division Series (ALDS), and then seven games for both the American League Championship Series (ALCS) and the World Series.
There are a maximum of 14 possible games that could be played at T-Mobile Park during the postseason, but it is entirely dependent on which team in each series has home field advantage.
The team with the best record leading into the series will receive home field advantage and have the opportunity to play more games of that series at their home field.
“It’s been amazing to have a victory every night, whichever way, somebody stepping up every night,” said Robert Brown, a season ticket holder who will also be at T-Mobile Park for the postseason. “I don’t know what to expect from them because they’ve exceeded all expectations.”
If the Mariners’ streak continues through the postseason, tickets for the American League Championship and even the World Series will become available with information announced at a later date.
As for Division Champions merchandise, that sold out almost immediately but a small restock will be available at the Mariners Team Store on Thursday with a large delivery expected for Friday.
