CLEVELAND — The Guardians go for the sweep and, for all intents and purposes, the nail in the coffin of the Detroit Tigers Thursday, Sept. 25 at Progressive Field.
The Guardians, winners of the first two games of a critical American League Central series, overtook the Tigers and enter Sept. 25 with a one-game lead, though Cleveland would also hold the tiebreaker over Detroit. With a win over the Tigers Thursday, any Guardians win or Tigers loss the rest of the way would secure the AL Central for Cleveland, thus completing the largest division comeback in baseball history.
