BRIGHTON, Mich. (WILX) – Denny McLain set the major league baseball world on its heels with his 31-win season while leading the Detroit Tigers to the 1968 World Series championship.
McLain is now 81 years old living in Brighton and he is the last pitcher to win 30 games in a season.
His 57-year memory of that season is Fred Heumann’s topic in this week’s ‘OF HEUMANN INTEREST.”
