The Athletic | Andrew Marchand: The Athletic reports that Netflix has acquired the rights to MLB’s 2026 season opener, a standalone opening night matchup between the Yankees and Giants on March 25th. This marks the first time Netflix will air an MLB game; the streaming service has previously aired NFL games, and has been in talks to broadcast next year’s Home Run Derby.

New York Post | Mark W. Sanchez: The Yankees have a playoff spot in hand, but Aaron Boone has yet to commit to how his playoff rotation will look. Max Fried and Carlos Rodón are entrenched at the top, but who starts a potential Game 3 or Game 4 of a series is anyone’s guess at this point, with Luis Gil and Cam Schlittler the leading options and Will Warren still somewhere in the conversation. What Boone has said so far is that a tandem scenario where multiple arms cover a few innings apiece is unlikely. The Yankees will in all likelihood tab a starter and let him start.

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: Max Fried’s first regular season in pinstripes is in the books, and it almost couldn’t have gone better. Fried put a capper on the campaign with another brilliant outing, holding the White Sox to one run and four hits over seven innings, in the process setting his regular-season numbers in stone at 19-5 with a 2.86 ERA and 189 strikeouts in 195.1 innings. Though there’s still work to be done, Fried has removed any doubt regarding his status as an Ace. “He’s everything you’d want from a guy at the top of your rotation,” Aaron Boone said. “We couldn’t have asked for more.”

ESPN: ESPN surveyed its panel of writers as well as executives and coaches around the league in an early preview of the postseason. Sentiment around the Yankees seems to be a mix of optimism and skeptical. Some view the Yankees as the most talented team in the league, while others view their defense and bullpen as weaknesses that will bite them when the lights are brightest.
