Hibiki Shinohara, a rookie draft pitcher for just his second time as a pro, pitching 58 pitches in 2 1/3 innings, giving up 8 hit strike out 4 runs before leaving the game. He was not the star of the NPB’s high school graduate rookie season.
In the first inning, they struck out all three batters in just eight pitches. In the second inning, with a three-run lead, Tamiya hit a single to center field with two outs and runners on first and second, giving up one run.
