The National League playoff race is down to the last days of the season with the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks battling for the the NL’s third and final wild card spot.

The Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres have already clinched postseason berths and will face each other in the best-of-three wild card series next week but home-field advantage will be decided by this weekend’s results.

The Mets had the best record in baseball in June but have slogged for three months and find themselves in danger of missing the postseason in the first year of Juan Soto’s $765 million contract. New York visits the Miami Marlins while the Reds are on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers and the Diamonbacks face the Padres at Petco Park.
