Arkansas’ Gage Wood throws historic no-hitter in College World Series

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas baseball continues its early preparations for the 2026 campaign with its annual fall classic on Friday, Sept. 26.
Gates for the intrasquad scrimmage, which is free to attend, will open an hour before first pitch, and parking for the event is free. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Razorbacks are nearing the end of their fall practices, with exhibitions against Little Rock and Dallas Baptist scheduled for Oct. 10-11. Those games will also be free to attend.
The Hogs went 50-15 in 2025, finished second in the SEC and reached the College World Series. Gage Wood’s no-hitter made it a memorable stint, but the Hogs dropped two games to LSU and were knocked out by the Tigers in heartbreaking fashion one round shy of the championship series.
Fans in attendance will get a chance to see familiar faces like Ryder Helfrick, Cam Kozeal and Reese Robinett. Gabe Gaeckle is resting this fall and Kuhio Aloy has not played in any scrimmages with a hand injury from the summer.
There’s also a host of transfers looking to cement their places as starters. Damian Ruiz, TJ Pompey and Ethan McElvain highlight Dave Van Horn’s newcomers.
