It could be the team looks externally to bolster their rotation.

Beyond the obvious fit, the Blue Jays have pieces they can deal as well. There are eight players on the active roster who can play the outfield. Even with Addison Barger seeing more time at third and George Springer and Anthony Santander splitting DH duties, that likely isn’t sustainable heading into next year.Toronto has some players – both in the minors and majors – that are out of options heading into next year. Leo Jimenez is a player that fits this category.
A three-time All-Star, Gray has the track record to back up his success.
Perhaps the Blue Jays should think about adding him into the fold.
