San Francisco Giants manager Bob Melvin left a stinging comment on the team’s starting center fielder’s ridiculous error.
Melvin said in an interview after beating the Colorado Rockies 6-3 at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California on the 27th (Korea time), “I mistook the out count. “It wasn’t like him,” he said of Lee Jung-hoo’s performance in defense in the top of the eighth inning.
Lee Jung-hoo suddenly threw the ball into the stands after catching Hunter Goodman’s fly ball in the top of the eighth inning with one out and a runner on first base. The first base runner was given two bases.

Lee Jung-hoo confessed at a meeting with MK Sports after the game, “I misunderstood the out.” Thinking the inning was over after mistaking it for a two-out situation.
And director Melvin said, “It wasn’t like him.”
Fortunately, this error did not lead to a loss and the team won.
On this day, San Francisco had more good things. Starter Trevor McDonald pitched seven innings of five hits, one homer, 10 strikeouts, and three runs.
“We’re really impressive at the end of the season,” Melvin said, signaling that he will be included in next season’s plans. “He’s a pretty strong fella, and he’s not afraid to go out and throw. Therefore, it is not surprising to see him rebound even after allowing a home run.

McDonald said, “It was a lot of fun. I want to finish the season strong, and I still want to win. I gained confidence by taking the mound today. I hope this confidence will lead to next season,” he said.
“All of them were recorded as curves, but in fact, they are two pitches, slider and sweeper,” he said, after catching 15 swings and misses with only curves on the day. It’s helping to raise what was 82 to 83 miles to 86 to 87 miles,” he explained.
Willie Adames, who was selected as the winner of the Willie Mac Award, led the team to victory by hitting a two-run home run in the first inning.
“I looked a little nervous today,” Melvin said, adding that Adames looked a little nervous as he prepared his acceptance speech. He said, “He is a player who deserves this award. I think he got his first at-bat inspired by this award. And he showed a pretty good sense today by hitting a home run,” he said.

“This is the biggest award a Giants player can get,” Adames said. It’s a great honor to be named right next to Willie McCorvey. It is also more meaningful in that it was selected by the people around me and fans, including teammates, coaches, and staff,” he said.
Matt Chapman had a career-high 1,000 hits through a hit in the fifth inning. “It’s a lot of hits,” Melvin said. He ran for a long time. “He is a player who will have more hits in the future,” he said of the veteran third baseman, who he has watched since his Oakland days.
