The Los Angeles Dodgers have a couple unfortunate injury updates ahead of their final regular season series this weekend against the Seattle Mariners.

Brock Stewart Out For Season

Major trade deadline acquisition Brock Stewart is undergoing shoulder surgery and will officially be out for the remainder of the year. The right-hander met with Dr. Neal ElAttrache. and it was determined that he needed season-ending surgery.

The Dodgers traded James Outman for Stewart ahead of the deadline. Stewart made just four appearances with LA, sporting a 4.91 ERA.

Max Muncy Injury Update

Max Muncy is dealing with an unspecified lower half injury that has kept him out of the lineup. Manager Dave Roberts said he’s not yet concerned about Muncy’s availability for Tuesday’s Wild Card opener.

Tommy Edman Injury Update

Tommy Edman remains out as he continues to nurse his ankle injury, but Roberts is hopeful he returns before the end of the regular season.

Will Smith Injury Update

Roberts said he is more “hoping” than “hopeful” that Will Smith will be available for the Wild Card series. If Smith is unable to play, Ben Rortvedt will be the team’s primary catcher.
