Mike Trout may not be at the peak of his powers anymore.
But on some nights, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim legend still looks a heck of a lot like the player he once was.

That was true on Friday, when Trout blasted two home runs.
It was his 30th career multi-homer game, which set an Angels franchise record.

Trout is up to 403 career home runs.
He’s been a no-doubt Hall of Famer for a while, but it’s special to see Trout stay healthy and get to do his thing.
Trout’s career has really had two major disappointments.
One is his inability to stay healthy in recent years. That’s a hard thing to do anything about.
The other is the Angels’ inability to put a winning team on the field.

The greatest player of his generation, Trout hasn’t played in a playoff game in more than a decade. That’s a shame for the wider baseball world.
But at least occasionally, Trout still reminds us all just how special he has been and always will be.
