Tony Santillan discusses Reds bullpen following 3-1 win in Milwaukee.
With the Philadelphia Phillies‘ 5-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins, the Milwaukee Brewers have clinched the No. 1 seed in the National League and home-field advantage throughout the postseason.
The top seed and home-field advantage were considered the biggest incentive the Brewers have to defeat the Cincinnati Reds in the final games of the regular season.
The Brewers allowed a six-run 3rd inning in the second game of their three-game series against the Reds, which control their own destiny in owning a tiebreaker with the New York Mets for the third National League wild-card spot.
“This is the opposite of what we’ve seen from the Brewers,” Fox color analyst A. J. Pierzynski said during the Reds’ big inning. “This is not the way the Brewers have played this entire year.”
Do the Brewers have additional incentive to beat the Reds?
Milwaukee is one win away from a franchise-record 97th regular-season win.
