The Major League Baseball’s 2025 regular season has come to a close. Here’s a recap of how the former Gamecocks did in the “Show.”

• Carlos Cortes (Athletics) – Cortes was called up by the Athletics on July 15 and the outfielder played in 42 games, hitting .309 with eight doubles, a triple, four home runs and 14 RBI. He had a .866 OPS and scored 11 runs for the A’s. Cortes’ best day at the plate came on September 12 against Cincinnati when he belted two home runs. He had four hits in the series against the Reds.

• Carmen Mlodzinski (Pittsburgh Pirates) – Mlodzinski made 34 appearances with 12 starts this season for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He had a 3.55 ERA and struck out 89 batters in 99 innings pitched. He had five wins and three holds on the year. His most recent win came on Sept. 21 against the Athletics, pitching three scoreless innings in the victory with three strikeouts.

• Christian Walker (Houston Astros) – Walker played in 154 games this season for the Houston Astros and had 24 doubles, 27 home runs, 88 RBI and 72 runs scored. He slugged .421 and had a .718 OPS. Walker had a pair of home runs on Sept. 27 against the Los Angeles Angels in his final game of 2025.

• Clarke Schmidt (New York Yankees) and Jordan Montgomery (Milwaukee Brewers) both are on the injured list for their respective teams but both could earn a ring as the Yankees and Brewers start postseason play this week.
