Yankees money line vs. Red Sox (-135)

Max Fried and Garrett Crochet were both excellent this season and the lefties will duel on Tuesday night. Both pitchers are intimately familiar with their bitter rivals, with Fried having faced the Red Sox three times this season and Crochet battling the Yankees four times. However, it was a slight advantage to Fried overall, as he posted a 1.96 ERA against Boston while Crochet had a 3.29 ERA against New York. The Yankees also have the more playoff-tested roster with the Red Sox making their first postseason appearance since 2021. The Yankees win in 63% of the model’s simulations.  

Over 7 runs in Dodgers vs. Reds (-110)

Los Angeles let the NL West race get a little tighter than needed, but ultimately survived and appears to be hitting its stride at the right time with wins in eight of 10 and a healthy pitching staff. Meanwhile, the Reds leaned heavily on a strong pitching staff to chase down the Mets for an NL Wild Card spot. However, expected Reds starter Hunter Greene had a 4.91 ERA on the road this season while Blake Snell will only be making his 12th start of the season. With two middle-of-the-road bullpens behind those starters, the model predicts the over hits in 59% of simulations.
