TAMPA — Major League Baseball on Tuesday released regular season schedules for 2026.
For the Tampa Bay Rays, it could be a frigid start to the season as their stadium is being repaired.
The Rays will start 2026 with a nine-game road trip to St. Louis, Milwaukee and Minnesota before returning to Tropicana Field for their home opener April 6 against the Chicago Cubs.
According to our news partners at the Tampa Bay Times, the Rays asked MLB for extra time to get the Trop, damaged in October 2024 by Hurricane Milton, ready for the season.
The home opener is the first of six home games — three each against the Cubs and the New York Yankees — before the Rays again hit the road.
St. Petersburg leaders say they expect the stadium to be ready in time for the April 6 game.
