Yankees starter Carlos Rodon was removed two batters into the seventh of a 3-3 game, and Cruz had to come in and put out the fire as Boston threatened to take the lead.
As Grisham caught the long final out of the inning, Cruz removed his own hat and let all his emotions out for the Yankee Stadium crowd to see as he went back to the dugout.
