The Detroit Tigers clinched their spot in the American League Divisional Series earlier on Thursday, setting up a series with the Seattle Mariners for a spot in the ALCS.
However, the Tigers had to await the result of the other AL Wild Card series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox Thursday night to determine what time they’d face the Mariners in their first game on Saturday in Seattle.
Following the Yankees’ victory, the Tigers and Mariners will clash at 8:38 p.m. ET, airing on FS1 Saturday night at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
Game 2 was already locked in regardless of result, with a start time of 8:03 p.m. ET, also airing on FS1 on Sunday.
No further start times have been announced for the best-of-five series at this point. The Tigers and Mariners will resume their series in Detroit on Tuesday, Oct. 7 for at least one game.
Should the series advance more than three games, Game 4 will also be in Detroit and a potential Game 5 would return to Seattle.
When the Tigers return to Comerica Park on Tuesday, they will have gone 16 days since their last home game.
Detroit finished out the regular season with a week-long road trip before heading straight to Cleveland for their three-game Wild Card series.
Now the Tigers are guaranteed at least one more appearance on their home field as they hope to advance to the ALCS for the first time since 2013.
