Keith Hernandez was front and center in the SNY booth on Sunday for the completion of the Mets’ season, which ended short of the playoffs.
The Mets legend spoke to Post Sports+ this week to provide his perspective on the disappointing season.
Sports+: Was this season’s free fall worse than the team’s 2007 collapse?
KH: Not even close — ’07 was the greatest collapse, even surpassing the 1964 Phillies. This feels more disappointing, but it’s not as big a collapse as ’07. You kept waiting for them to turn it around this year, but a 38-55 record beginning on June 13 doesn’t lie.
