Excitement is brewing in Milwaukee. The Brewers’ playoff push begins Saturday in the Cream City, and for the first time in the postseason, they’ll play their division rivals: the Chicago Cubs. “Freddy Peralta’s our first pitcher for game one. He’s got to set it off. It’s going to be awesome,” Ruben Bermudez, a Brewers fan who flew in from Arizona, said Friday. The close proximity between the two teams has bars preparing for an influx of baseball fans. “Just the excitement on the street, and every one of our employees knows, they just want to be here! They want to be a part of what’s going on,” Dugout 54 owner Kelly Vecitis said. At Dugout 54 on Bluemound Road, the owner said they’ll be opening three hours early at 8 a.m. Saturday. “I think you’ll see about 30-40 people here working tomorrow, and that will start early,” Vecitis said. “I think the crowd is expected to come around 9 o’clock.”Dugout 54 offers shuttle rides to Brewers games. The bar anticipates giving upwards of 600 people a ride to the ballpark on Saturday. That’s nearly double regular games. “Oh, everyone is screaming and hollering and cheering. Even on the way back, win or lose, we’re all Brewers fans,” driver Brenda Wallace told 12 News Friday. They’ll have three shuttles operating Saturday, starting at 10:30 a.m. And those fans are hoping for a Brew Crew win.
