NEW YORK (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten retired four of five batters in a relief appearance for Boston in the Red Sox season-ending loss to the Yankees on Thursday.
Slaten entered Game 3 of the Wild Card series in the fourth inning with Boston down 4-0. With runners on first and second with two out, Slaten hit Aaron Judge with a pitch to load the bases. He then got Cody Bellinger to fly out to end the threat.
Slaten came back in the fifth inning to induce flyouts from Giancarlo Stanton and Ben Rice before striking out Amed Rosario.
Slaten threw 11 pitches, with eight being strikes.
