LOTS of Guardians’ ownership discussion on Twitter. It obviously will not surprise me if the Guardians lower payroll from what it was in 2025 because that is what the Dolans do. But, it’ll be a wildly ignomous end to their time as majority owners here if they do that. I don’t think many Guardians’ fans even expect them to be top half of league payrolls, but they were 25th or 26th, depending which source you use, in 2025. Bumping up to 22nd or, gasp, 20th would make a HUGE difference. But, don’t hold your breath for that to happen.

The Guardians announced they signed left-handed reliever Steven Perez and right-handed outfielder Wuilfredo Antunez to minor-league free agent deals. Both are players who could be considered to be added to the roster ahead of the Rule-5 deadline (I think Perez is more likely than Antunez).

I forgot to shout out Chase DeLauter’s first big-league hit, which is not his first MLB hit, but is his first postseason hit:

Very excited to watch Chase and Daniel Espino in the Arizona Fall League. The Guardians’ prospects will play for the Surprise Saguaros beginning on Tuesday, October 7th. Their schedule can be found here. A reminder of which Guardians’ prospects – including the aforementioned Antunez – can be found here.
