Tyler Stephenson on Reds; loss vs. Dodgers in NL playoffs

Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson talks about Reds’ loss to Dodgers

Cincinnati Reds fans are still coping with the hometown team’s swift exit from the MLB postseason after the Los Angeles Dodgers swept Cincinnati in the best-of-three National League Wild Card series at Dodger Stadium.

As if the loss didn’t hurt enough, former NFL punter-turned-sports analyst Pat McAfee “dunked” on the Queen City’s team while talking to “College GameDay” co-host and diehard Reds fan Kirk Herbstreit during”The Pat McAfee Show” Oct. 2 on ESPN.

In the TikTok video posted by ESPN’s baseball account and captioned, “The Reds didn’t deserve that,” Herbstreit says, “three down,” when correcting McAfee on how many years he has been calling NFL games for Amazon Prime Video.

McAfee replied, “Three down? Hey, two down just like the Reds.”

The former Indianapolis Colts player proceeded to make a dunking gesture to Herbstreit, saying, “That’s basically what the Dodgers did.”

Herbstreit took in the jokes, laughing along, but, like many Reds fans, the pain was still apparent for him.
