Former Texas Ranger and member of the 2023 World Series-winning team, Robbie Grossman, had a few different managers in his playing career.
Grossman, who recently retired from the MLB, played for 12 seasons, playing under managers like A.J. Hinch, Paul Molitor, Bob Melvin, Brian Snitker, Bruce Bochy and more.
So, it’s safe to say that Grossman has a decent gauge on what makes a good manager, and he was highly complimentary of the now former Rangers manager, Bochy, on the latest edition of the SportsDay Rangers podcast.

“[Bochy] was one of the best I’ve ever been around. It wasn’t just to say something. It was always the right time, right place when we needed it. He had a very good feel for how to put his hand on the temperature gauge and be like, this is my time to come in here and say something. His record and career speaks for itself. This wasn’t the first stop he’s done this, and I was just lucky enough to be a part of a clubhouse that he got to lead,” Grossman said.
