*The offseason has begun for the Red Sox already, earlier than they would have liked. There will be no dramatic upheaval in the organization and likely no recriminations from their first-round exit. For the most part, the right pieces are in place for the future.
But that doesn’t mean there won’t be any drama, and most of this winter will likely center around whether the team re-signs Alex Bregman. It’s been obvious for months that Bregman will utilize his opt-out clause and that will become official within days of the completion of the World Series.
