Jackson Chourio postgame, Brewers star provides injury update
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio left the team’s playoff game against the Chicago Cubs with hamstring tightness, but he said afterward that he “feels good.”
Play-by-play announcer Jeff Levering was behind the microphone for the Brewers radio network calling Game 1 of the National League Division Series at American Family Field on Oct. 4 between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs, but many Brewers fans were calling for local broadcasters, such as Levering, to have more of a national voice in October.
During Game 1, many Brewers fans on social media were pressing for local announcers on network television saying they were unhappy with the commentary provided by TBS announcers Alex Faust and Ron Darling.
Those supporting the Brewers appeared particularly upset with Darling, (who has been an analyst on national games for TBS since 2007) claiming he was favoring the larger-market Cubs despite the Brewers’ convincing 9-3 victory.
I’m not sure if Ron Darling knew the Brewers were a MLB team before today.

I hope Ron Darling never gets put on the air ever again. Blatantly biased against the Brewers. Choke on it Ron. #ThisIsMyCrew

You would think the Brewers were down 9-2 they way the announcers are talking. Shameful broadcasting.

Somebody tell Ron Darling if he thinks the game starts at 708 on Monday he’ll be waiting an hour for it to start

.
Terrible announcers in this Cubs-Brewers game. It’s like they’re on AI repeat.

Even Cubs fans were making a plea for another Brewers TV voice — Brian Anderson — to return to Milwaukee (Anderson is calling the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers series for TBS this week). They weren’t in favor of Darling’s commentary either.
Wait does Bob Costas still work for tbs, I want him far away from the broadcast booth. I know Brian Anderson works for the Brewers but he’s legit the best announcer in the game

This certainly isn’t exclusive to Brewers fans, as most fans want familiar tones of local announcers that favor the team they cover flowing through the sound bar.
Last season when the Brewers lost a heartbreaking wild-card series in three games to the New York Mets, announcers John Sciambi and Doug Glanville called the games for ESPN. The field reporter for that series, Jesse Rogers, was also a Chicago-based writer. At the time, some Brewers fans were displeased that Sciambi and Glanville were assigned to the series because they announce Chicago Cubs games in the regular season and thought they were biased toward the Mets.
Considering these games are also being brodcast on Tru TV and streamed on HBO Max, a local option on one of those platforms could be a logical move for MLB next year.
Spot on Aaron-what a miserable experience listening to these guys. Let our local crews call these games!!!

Faust and Darling will call Game 2 of the Brewers-Cubs series Monday at 8 p.m.
