It was a good day for Guardians fans yesterday as the Mariners beat the Tigers 3-2 and the Blue Jays crushed the Yankees 13-7.

I thought I could root for the Yankees to beat the Blue Jays because I resent Kevin Gausman and John Schneider for hitting Jose on the wrist/arm intentionally (hitting him on the back or rump, fine). But, I was wrong. I cannot root for the Yankees. All is forgiven, Toronto, as long as you keep thumping the Evil Empire and don’t throw to hurt Jose again. Truce.

This prospect fella on Twitter says Chase DeLauter has been replaced by Joe Lampe on the AFL roster so that DeLauter can prepare for spring training (he’s not hurt, he’s not hurt, he’s not hurt):

This is a bit of a bummer for people hoping to see DeLauter in the AFL, but I think it’s a very positive sign for his chances of breaking camp with the team. I’ll be mostly interested in what Daniel Espino and Wuilfredo Antunez do in AFL.

I would assume sometime this week that we will get the Guardians’ season-ending press conference. Not sure there will be anything of particular note from that, but they may indicate if the plan is for DeLauter to play centerfield.

I found the Selby is Godcast’s latest episode on the season that just ended to be very therapeutic. Highly recommend.

One final thing – yesterday, when I threw together some potential rosters, I put Joey Cantillo in the bullpen while assuming the team would retain John Means’ services. This is simply because I believe Cantillo could be an absolutely dominant reliever. It’s clear he can also be a good starter and I expect him to end up in the rotation with trades/injuries, etc. So, just to clarify – I am not a Cantillo hater.
