Brett Phillips is officially an ex-Major League Baseball player.
The 31-year-old outfielder announced his retirement from the game on Monday after seven big-league seasons.

He last played in 2023.
Phillips is best remembered for his game-winning RBI in Game 4 of the 2020 World Series for the Tampa Bay Rays. With the Rays trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-6 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Phillips smacked a two-run single to become the first player with a walk-off hit with two outs in a World Series game since Kirk Gibson’s memorable home run in 1988.
A native of Seminole, FL, Phillips appeared in 393 games for the Rays, Milwaukee Brewers, Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox.
He finishes his career batting .187 with 160 hits, 31 home runs, 99 runs batted in and an OPS of .619.
