CLEVELAND, Ohio — José Ramírez is again among the finalists for the Hank Aaron Award, the prestigious honor that recognizes the most outstanding regular season offensive performer in the American and National leagues.
A four-time finalist (2020, 2021, 2024, 2025) Ramírez proved to be the heartbeat of Cleveland’s offense, batting .283 with 30 home runs, 85 RBIs, 103 runs scored and an .863 OPS over 158 games.
Former honorees Aaron Judge and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are among the finalists joining Ramirez in the AL, while former winners Shohei Ohtani and Christian Yelich are again finalists in the NL.
Winners will be selected by a distinguished voting panel comprised of MLB legends and past award recipients, including Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, Albert Pujols, Ken Griffey Jr., Chipper Jones, Pedro Martínez, John Smoltz, Johnny Bench, Craig Biggio, Eddie Murray and Robin Yount.
Fans can participate in the selection process by voting at MLB.com/aaron. The fan voting window opened today at noon and runs through Sunday, October 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The 2025 Hank Aaron Award winners will be revealed during a special presentation at the MLB Awards show November 13 in Las Vegas. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the award’s introduction.
Ramírez seeks to become the first Cleveland winner of the award since Manny Ramirez in 1999. His 137 OPS+ ranked among the top 15 in the AL, while his blend of power, speed and contact remained elite — producing his second consecutive season of at least 30 homers, 30 doubles and 40 steals. Ramírez finished top 10 in the AL in total bases (220) and led the Guardians in nearly every major offensive category, including batting average, OPS, hits and runs.
In a lineup that often struggled to score, his steady production and clutch consistency once again anchored Cleveland’s push to the postseason.
Ramírez hit .an astonishing .318 with a .916 OPS in 0-2 counts, while the major league average was .155.
The 33-year-old Dominican native also continued to climb the franchise record books, moving to second all-time in extra-base hits (668), seventh in hits, and surpassing 900 career RBIs while becoming the first player in club history with 250 home runs and 250 stolen bases.

He broke the team record for multi-homer games (27), passing Jim Thome and Albert Belle further cementing his place among the greatest hitters in franchise history.
American League finalists include Byron Buxton (Minnesota Twins), Junior Caminero (Tampa Bay Rays), Riley Greene (Detroit Tigers), Guerrero Jr. (Toronto Blue Jays), Judge (New York Yankees), Nick Kurtz (Athletics), Cal Raleigh (Seattle Mariners), Ramírez (Cleveland Guardians), George Springer (Toronto Blue Jays) and Bobby Witt Jr. (Kansas City Royals).
National League finalists are Pete Alonso (New York Mets), Corbin Carroll (Arizona Diamondbacks), Ohtani (Los Angeles Dodgers), Geraldo Perdomo (Arizona Diamondbacks), Kyle Schwarber (Philadelphia Phillies), Juan Soto (New York Mets), Fernando Tatis Jr. (San Diego Padres), Kyle Tucker (Chicago Cubs), Trea Turner (Philadelphia Phillies) and Yelich (Milwaukee Brewers).
A committee of MLB.com journalists reviewed the top offensive statistics, accomplishments and performances of the regular season to determine the 10 finalists for each league.
The Hank Aaron Award was introduced in 1999 to honor the 25th anniversary of Aaron breaking Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record. At the time of its creation, it was the first major award introduced by Major League Baseball in more than 25 years. During this year’s All-Star Game, MLB celebrated the 51st anniversary of Aaron’s historic 715th record-breaking home run with a special in-game presentation.
Judge won the American League award in both 2022 and 2024, while Ohtani claimed the honor in 2023 for the American League and 2024 for the National League after his move to the Dodgers. The award has recognized baseball’s premier offensive talents for over two decades, with past winners including Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout.
