MILWAUKEE — The intense rivalry and proximity between Milwaukee and Chicago have fueled high demand for Brewers-Cubs playoff tickets. According to Wisconsin-based Ticket King, prices for Monday night’s game ranged in price from $105 for a 400-level seat to more than $700 for the infield.

It was clear in the first two games that Brewers season ticket holders held on to their seats, so American Family Field wasn’t overtaken by Cubs fans.

Brewers season ticket holders aren’t selling as many playoff seats

Wisconsin-based, Ticket King, said ticket sales remain strong for the postseason

Better Business Bureau said fans should avoid buying tickets off of Craigslist and FB Marketplace, use a trusted local company or buy directly from the official team website

“Milwaukee through and through is a baseball town, and I know in the regular season Cubs fans like to invade and get tickets, but as you can see, everyone in Milwaukee is showing out,” said Tom Marron, a lifelong Brewers fan.

The Milwaukee Brewers have a policy that prohibits the resale of postseason tickets obtained through season ticket holder presales, warning that violations could lead to forfeiting future presale opportunities for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The team aims to prevent Chicago Cubs fans from acquiring tickets for games at American Family Field, maintaining the desired home-field advantage.

Now, the test will be how easily Brewers fans can get tickets to Wrigley Field for Game 3 on Wednesday.

“In Chicago, we certainly do have some seats, as well. Not to the degree of what we have here, but we certainly have seats if fans want something half way decent or kind of better,” said James Bryce Jr., a partner at Ticket King, who acknowledged that there have been less tickets available on the resale marked for this crosstown, best-of-five National Division League Series (NLDS).

Lisa Schiller with the Better Business Bureau Wisconsin said buyers should be extra cautious when trying to purchase tickets online. “Avoid tickets sold on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and other online listings,” Schiller said.

“Always check for that lock symbol and ‘https,’ which signals a website is secure,” said Schiller.

Schiller warned that scammers can easily make fake websites and tickets look legitimate. She said if you buy tickets online, pay for them with a credit card rather than a debit card or other forms of payment. Credit cards provide stronger fraud protection and charge dispute options.

“The safest options will be to purchase from the ballpark box office, the official website of the team or league, or a verified local business,” Schiller added.

If the Brewers beat the Cubs in the NLDS, they move on to the National League Championship Series. That is the last step before getting to the World Series. The last time the Brewers won the NLDS was in 2018, when they swept the Colorado Rockies. The Milwaukee Brewers have never won a World Series.
