Seattle won the opener 5-1 and followed that up with a similar 4-1 performance in Game 2 on Saturday. The Mariners are going for their fourth win in five games and trying to extend their road winning streak to five games with a win today. Emerson Hancock only went 4.2 innings for the Mariners, but he only gave up one mistake on a Gavin Sheets homer in the fourth. It was the only run scored by the Padres, as the Seattle bullpen shut down San Diego, giving up just two more hits. Rowdy Tellez tied the game with a solo shot of his own in the fifth. Cal Raleigh led off the seventh inning and hit his 15th homer of the season for the go-ahead run for Seattle. Dylan Moore added some insurance with a two-run single in the ninth to seal the victory.

The Mariners look to secure the sweep and continue suppressing San Diego’s offense by starting Bryan Woo. The righty is 4-1 with a 2.84 ERA. The Padres will have a great counter by starting Michael King, who is also 4-1 with an even better 2.32 ERA. We should be in for a great pitcher’s duel for this finale.
