NEW YORK (WOWT) – On this day in 2009, and Omaha baseball standout made a playoff appearance in the big leagues.
Brian Duensing played at Millard South High School and the University of Nebraska — even making a College World Series appearance with the Huskers.
However, one of his biggest dreams came true in the big apple, as Duensing pitched for the Minnesota Twins against the New York Yankees in game one of that year’s American League Division Series.
The Yanks would go on to win the game, 7-2.
