LSU’s rich baseball program got a little richer on Tuesday night with the commitment of elite left-handed starter Lucas Nawrocki.
The 5-11 southpaw from Aledo, Texas, announced on his social media account that he’s headed to Baton Rouge to join an LSU baseball factory that has cranked out national championships in 2 of the past 3 seasons. That includes this year’s run to the championship under Jay Johnson, who has already won 2 titles in his 4 seasons at LSU and now is adding a talent like Nawrocki to help go after more hardware.

According to Over-Slot Baseball, Nawrocki is the 22nd-ranked high school prospect in the Class of 2026 and the 5th-ranked pitcher in the class.

That Over-Slot Baseball scouting report on Nawrocki says he’s “an undersized southpaw with enormous stuff and a chance to shut down opponents at the end of games if he doesn’t ultimately stay in the rotation.”
The report on Nawrocki adds that he’s “a supreme athlete with a super quick arm.”
Now that supreme talent is headed to Baton Rouge to go with Johnson’s 2026 team that will be trying to make history and go back-to-back in Omaha next June.
