In a corresponding move, the Dodgers activated Tommy Edman off the injured list. The return of Edman allowed Los Angeles to make this move with Taylor.

After the move, the team has now released a tribute post for Taylor.

Taylor has been with the Dodgers for nine seasons and was the longest-tenured member of the team.

However, the veteran has struggled to start the season once again. Taylor was slashing .200/.200/.257 with two runs batted in across 28 games. His OPS was .457, and he just wasn’t producing enough to warrant keeping him around.

Taylor helped the Dodgers win two championships during his long tenure and was a catalyst in helping to build this team. The veteran had many memorable moments with Los Angeles, and he will surely be missed by everyone in the clubhouse.

This decision on Taylor comes directly after Los Angeles designated veteran catcher Austin Barnes for assignment earlier in the week. The Dodgers are making it clear that they will do whatever it takes to win, and that the team can’t hold onto dead weight, no matter how meaningful a player is.

Los Angeles is in the business of winning championships, and after taking home the glory last season, they want more. The Dodgers have dealt with multiple crucial injuries this season already, but the team needs replacements to handle the moment, and if they can’t, they will be let go.

The Dodgers will now go forward with this move in the hopes of the team being more consistent. Los Angeles has only one goal in mind, and that is to win another World Series title.
