Roanoke College community mourns loss of fellow student, baseball player

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — The Roanoke College community is mourning the loss of a fellow student and baseball player.

Eddie Kaufman was a sophomore at Roanoke College last fall when he was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and sadly lost his battle on Tuesday.

“Our community has a big heart, but it is thoroughly broken this morning as we mourn the passing of Roanoke College student and baseball player Eddie Kaufman,” shared the Roanoke College Athletics page.

“Eddie’s spirit and courage touched us all,” said Roanoke College Athletics. “We will always love you, Eddie. Once a Maroon, always a Maroon.”
