A highly anticipated experience that brings a Topgolf approach to America’s pastime has set its U.S. debut date in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Batbox, a sleek take on a virtual batting cage with a bar, will open its first U.S. location Oct. 15 in Addison’s Village on the Parkway, a retail and dining destination, according to an announcement. The 13,000-square-foot venue will feature 10 baseball simulators in a sports bar-like environment, the latest “eatertainment” concept to make its way to North Texas.
Much like Topgolf, groups of up to 18 players can reserve a bay. Players can compete in a three-, six- or nine-inning baseball game, or jump into home run derby and pitching contests.
The sports bar will offer shareable plates of staple bar foods like nachos and fried pickles, plus full meals such as tacos, burgers, hot dogs and salads. The full-service bar will offer cocktails and mocktails. Apart from swinging a bat, walls in the space will be lined with screens for sports watching.
